Set up E911 emergency addresses

E911 (Enhanced 911) connects emergency callers with the right public safety answering point (PSAP). The “enhanced” part is that it automatically shares the caller’s phone number and location with the emergency operator, so responders can reach the right place even if the caller can’t speak.

Why each user needs an emergency address

Assigning an emergency address to every Teams calling user means an accurate, dispatchable location is available whenever they make an emergency call.

You add the emergency address when you assign a phone number to a user. See Activate existing phone numbers for the steps.

Note: E911 applies to US numbers.
