Install Mobex SMS as a desktop app

Prefer Mobex SMS in its own window rather than a browser tab? You can install it as a desktop app in a few clicks. It works like any other app on your computer, with desktop notifications, so you don’t need to keep a tab open.

Before you begin

This works in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Other Chromium-based browsers may also work.

Install the app

1. Open mobex.yakchat.com in your browser.
2. Click the browser menu (•••) in the top-right corner.
3. Select More tools → Apps → Install this website as an app.
4. Name the app (for example, Mobex SMS) and click Install.
5. Open the new app from your desktop or Start menu and sign in.

Tip: menu names vary slightly between browsers. If you can’t find the option, search the web for “install website as an app” plus your browser’s name.

What to expect

• Opens in its own window, with no browser tabs
• Shows desktop notifications for new messages
• Looks and works just like Mobex inside Microsoft Teams
• Can be pinned to your taskbar or dock
